Wonder Wand / Miracle Whip

Unread post by G4YVM »

I spent an hour or so a few weeks back making this little DX hunter.... I had a whip aerial from an old 27MHz model Tx, a plastic box, airspace cap and 12 way switch in the junk box. I used a decent sized toroid from stock and, well, got this. It loads beautifully but then so does my dummy load

I have to wait for dry weather to test it...I shall report back.

Nice work David, I will look to build something similar for my FT-817 so I can try hotel room operating, not sure KLM will let me hide a mag loop in my hold luggage!
your design looks neat and compact, I guess it will handle 5W PEP no issue?

Cheers
