Delta loop

Unread post by M0VMT »

I was bored like the rest of us so I decided to take my OCF down and put my Delta loop back up that's 40 metres of wire into a 4-1.
Last night I was working into the states on 20 at 22:00hrs barefoot something I have not done for ages.
The noise floor has halved and I can't see returning to the OCF while I'm having the fun I am and the ears are not getting bashed by white noise.
I've serviced all my antennas and checked the tower so theirs nothing much left to do.
How's the rest of you doing?

Somebody once explained to me why loops reject noise. Some stuff about near fields, far fields, magnetic waves and electric waves.
He might as well have been describing quantum mechanics to the cat.

I put my 6M vertical back up today, ready for E season.

Plus my 10M vertical looks like it needs some TLC, may drop that tomorrow.

My 10M beam went back up last week.

I bought another IC-7700 (good price) tonight, one for HF, one for backup and 6M.

John.
