What Ham have you done today.

Unread post by M0HJO »

Well after recent bad weather my 6M vertical came crashing down, taking the 20M wire on its way!!

That was a couple of weeks ago, so over the weekend I dismantled the 6M vertical, lucky no damage, put away for the winter.

The 20M wire was by and large okay, but the coax was damaged.
Replaced and now back on the air.

Great signals on 80M tonight.
Worked all over the UK & EU on the 80M wire.
Glad to be Here.

Made a buffer relay today for the control, from TS-790 to amp.

Need to sort out at some stage, why my IC-7700 is not chatting to my PC all the time!
Works with Ham Radio Deluxe no problem, other programs its hit and miss.

Keeps me out of mischief!

Fixed the Synthesizer on my TS-780 VHF multi-mode rig, leaked battery juice had corroded some of the wiring harness connections.

Met m0mgf he came to my place to buy some radio equipment ex RN nice chap :D
Rearrange my shack then carry on replacing old pl259 with the clamp ons later.
Installed my new secondhand ft2000 and I have to say it's ok, two receivers and simple to fly.

How do you find the FT-2000?

I had a FT-2000D when they first came out, found the noise floor terrible.

Loving it John to be honest and the noise levels are comparable to the 1200 maybe slightly higher 1-2 s points but it's certainly quieter than the 7600 I had here.
As you know built in PSU dual receive it's a little gem.
Why I didn't buy one a few years ago I don't know.

I helped a friend (G2KF) install a 3ele mono bander for 20M this afternoon.

After install, I had a play.
I was impressed, working West Coast of the USA just like shelling peas.
It was good fun, I want one lol.

John.
