As of yet no release for the 991 and I don't think they will, I have been trying to get the ftm100 to do wires with the cable kit but no success at all.

Unfortunately Russ they have not released the software for direct access for your 991 mate but you could get a shark openspot and fly into the FCS and YSF reflectors on c4fm but if you want to do wires you will need a whole lot of more kit Sorry.

Yaesu have released new software that allows the ft2d ftm100d and the 400 to access wires x without the need for a HRI200, I have just bought the ft2d to join in wires x and I have updated it to run HRI and PDN modes which is a faff but nothing too hard if you follow John Kruck n4upc from Yaesu USA advise on youtube it is simplified.
Lots of interesting stuff happening with fusion right now and this new software rules out having to have 2 radios to use wires x, the only downside is you cannot have a node like a HRI200 but you have your own access point in the house but again it would need another radio.
I am happy just using 1 radio and using wires x and it will fulfil my needs for now, the kit I need is a scu39 cable which is out of stock typical and a laptop which I have so take a look on youtube if it of interest.
Their is four vids here that will explain the above
